Contained within the partnership’s Sustainable Community Strategy, the city vision focuses on five key drivers or priorities for change.

  • Competitiveness
  • Connectivity
  • Distinctive Sense of Place
  • Thriving Neighbourhoods
  • Health and Wellbeing

Contained within these five drivers are 12 outcomes, which all relate to improving the lives of every man, woman and child in the city.

The city vision is the culmination of 17 months of engagement and consultation with key partners and city residents.

From here the partnership will be monitoring progress against the National Indicators and measures of success outlined in the document.

What is a Sustainable Community Strategy?

Sustainable community strategies (SCS) are key long-term planning documents for improving the quality of life and services in a local area. It is from these that local area agreements (LAA) are developed. Every local authority is expected to produce an SCS, which is developed and agreed with its local strategic partnership.

Equalities Assessment
