Healthier Communities and Older People

This section of the Local Area Agreement concerns improving the health and well-being of the people of Liverpool.

This is particularly needed in the most deprived communities and involves:

  • identifying and tackling the causes of poor health
  • supporting healthier lifestyles and encouraging people to make the right food choices and get the right amount of exercise
  • reducing the risks to well-being
  • making extra efforts on neighbourhoods and specific groups of people where there are particular problems; and
  • increasing access and opportunity for all.  This means making sure that everyone can live in decent homes, and can apply or even train for jobs which come to the area - all of which will make their lives much more pleasurable.
