What We Do

Liverpool is changing and the city is experiencing rapid economic growth and urban renaissance at a level not seen for some years.

Liverpool is on the up. The health, wealth and wellbeing of the city’s residents is improving.  The dedication of Liverpool First partners will ensure that positive progress continues and is accelerated in the coming years.

However, not all of our communities are benefiting from the city’s improved healthier, wealthier and safer neighbourhoods to the same degree. Liverpool First is leading the way in developing and delivering the stronger partnerships needed to go the extra mile, to create equal opportunity for all.

Liverpool First partners are working together to tackle the legacy of deprivation seen in many of our neighbourhoods that was caused by disastrous economic re-structuring 30 years ago.

Working together, Liverpool First partners will:

  • provide the leadership and drive to ensure the city realises its vision of Liverpool becoming a 'thriving international city'
  • draw together the identified local and national priorities and develop shared targets as set out in the Local Area Agreement (LAA) and Sustainable Community Strategy
  • do whatever it can to get partners to work together on joint projects to improve service delivery
  • evaluate effectiveness and respond proactively where need is identified
  • promote social cohesion and celebrate our diversity
  • lead and promote enhanced local neighbourhood delivery through inclusive, stronger and more effective local level partnerships through Neighbourhood Agreements to promote and enable opportunities for all our residents
  • effectively respond to the Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) and emerging government policy agenda
  • coordinate effective and strategic community engagement to ensure that citizens' needs are taken into account when designing and delivering services.
