A NUMBER of local community projects will receive a share of more than £100,000 in funding, following a series of public events held this month.
Since November 2009, Liverpool City Council has worked closely with LCVS and the existing Your Community Matters events to pilot their Community Funding Events. These events give residents an opportunity to vote on small pots of funding for local projects in their area and have their say on issues in their community.
Liverpool First partnership is currently seeking views on the Draft Compact for Liverpool.
The Liverpool Compact is a written agreement between local statutory agencies and the voluntary and community sector.
THE ASSIST alcohol team will be out on the streets of Liverpool this coming weekend with the ASSIST Bus, offering free information, advice and support to people about alcohol – and inviting people to take their alcohol challenge.
Over the past ten months, more than 2,000 people from around Liverpool have spoken with the ASSIST team at alcohol awareness events taking place across the city, including many right in the heart of communities in North Liverpool.
LOCAL PEOPLE are being asked to influence the future of a massive pot of cash for voluntary and community groups in Liverpool.
The city council has one of the largest schemes of its type in the country, and allocates three-year grants to organisations to deliver projects for the benefit of local residents.
Currently, 79 organisations are given money - ranging from a drop-in centre for homeless people through to projects to help people who had suffered domestic violence and initiatives to help older people stay physically and mentally active.
LIVERPOOL Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) working in partnership with Liverpool City Council, ward councillors, and other partners has announced further Your Community Matters events for the city’s wards.
These events focus on community funding, giving residents the chance to vote on small pots of funding for local projects which will improve their area. There will also be the chance to meet key decision makers and voice concerns residents have about their local area.
