Liverpool Core Strategy consultation now open
This consultation is now closed.
LIVERPOOL CITY COUNCIL is drawing up a new plan to guide the future growth and development of the city.
Called the Liverpool Core Strategy (referred in the Sustainable Community Strategy as Local Development Framework), this plan will set out the City's vision for planning up to 2026, and the policies to deliver the vision - a thriving international city.
The current draft's key features include:
- 40,800 new houses up to 2026
- Maximising economic growth, especially in the City Centre
- Investing in district and local shopping areas
- Providing high-quality and accessible green spaces
- Protecting important historic buildings
- Adapting to the effects of climate change
- Improving accessibility and managing demand for travel.
People are now able to have their say and input into the next draft's development. Local people, community groups, businesses and delivery partners are asked to tell us whether they think the City is putting the best option forward.
The consultation period is open between 1 February to 15 March, 2010.
